  Here’s a test of professionalism. Does the instructor have a reputation in the community in which he or she is an expert? How does the instructor interact with others in that wider world?
  
  If the instructor is Steve, the answers to the above reflect his excellence in the classroom and on the road. In the several months since I took the Can-Am course with him, I’ve seen him at biker gatherings and club meetings. He is generous with his knowledge, yet has a light footprint. When asked for input he has spot-on input. Riding he role-models what he teaches. In the classroom and on the practice track the man is an expert in teaching all of the concepts and techniques riders need to be safe and have fun.
  
  Beginner to advanced riders, we are all better off because Steve is among us on two wheels or three.
